Award-Winning Spa
Taha'a island's most alluring attribute is its location on the stunning coral islet of Motu Tautau off the coast of Taha'a, itself just 34 square miles. It is reached only by private boat or helicopter - the latter lands on the resort’s own helipad. And the views, particularly of Bora Bora, have been known to inspire muteness. The 60 award-winning bungalows and villas (including two Royal Beach villas) are immaculate, spacious havens built from local bamboo and pandanus leaves, and decorated in bright white linens and dark hardwood furnishings. The 48 Over Water Suites on stilts have private decks giving direct access to the fantasy lagoon, above which drift elevated walkways from one Over Water Suite to the next. Ten Beach Villas come with their own plunge pools, and have bathrooms that can open onto the great outdoors and still offer total privacy. Pure pampering is on tap at Manea Spa, which nestles in the shade of a coconut grove between the meandering waters of a small lake and the lagoon. Happily, all three of the island’s restaurants are found at Le Taha’a. Vanile and Ohiri, in the heart of the resort among the trees, are the main fine dining spots.
The beachside La Plage hosts barbecues and Polynesian seafood buffets accompanied by exotic live entertainment.
